Missing You

I'm not sure if anybody knows this - but i occasionally write poetry. I have been writing poems since 1st grade and have written a few song lyrics as well.

Here's a poem i wrote dedicated to my 15 year old niece Jessica Brown (whom I haven't seen or spoken to since October of 2007 and miss so much!)

Missing You - by Kelly D. Brown

Missing you often
Missing you now
Why did this happen?
I don't understand how?

Missing out on your life
on the things that teens do
Missing out on fun stuff
and the gossip of who's dating who.

We laughed at jokes; we cried some tears
Went to concerts; had no fears.

I watched you grow up to the girl you are today
Loved you like a daughter
In every kind of way.

I remember the moments
Of the good and the bad
the fun times we laughed
and especially the sad.

I hope you'll remember
I hope you won't forget
Those moments we shared
With not a regret.

I loved you back than
and still love you today,
I'll love you forever
I wish things weren't this way.

I love you Jessica!
